Elf on the Shelf Activities

I know the struggle is real every December. Elf on the Shelf Activity Sheet

Simply download and print this Elf on the Shelf activity sheet and it’s ready to go. The Elf’s secret message will be revealed once the code has been broken. It’s super easy for early school age kids and you could also help them if needed. All you need to do is print it and add a pencil next to it with your Elf, and it’s ready to be discovered in the morning.

Elf on the Shelf Printable Props

Here’s the second activity that will make your Elf adventures easier when you need a last minute fix. We all know that elves absolutely love to play board games. You knew that right? If you need  a quick idea pretend to have your Elf play Jenga, Monopoly, or cards with any toys you have on hand. Barbie, Buzz Lightyear, Teddy Bear – they will all be happy to be part of the board game action.

Elf on the Shelf idea

Pose the toys around your child’s favorite board game and add this Elf on the Shelf printable below. It is an invitation to your child from their Elf to play the board game the following day.

Simply download it, print it and write in your children’s names, the name of the board game, and time and date of when you’d like to facilitate them to play it with the Elf.

Quick tip: Make sure you think about it and specify a time that suits you. They’ll want to do play it straight away when they find the invitation but 6:00am is probably not the best time for you!

Elf on the Shelf Signs

I’ve also created some fun Elf on the Shelf signs. These signs are great to use throughout the whole duration of the Elf’s adventures. You can bring it out when the Elf makes his first appearance and leave it in a prominent place, only to be whisked away on Christmas Day when the Elf disappears again. Simply print it and place it in a frame or even stick it to the wall with some washi tape (so that the paint stays on your wall when you remove the tape!). When printing it you can make it either A4 or letter size or scale it to suit your printer.

There are two different designs for these Elf on the Shelf printables. If you are an Elf on the Shelf purist you are probably okay with the Elf keeping a close-eye on the activities (and behavior) of your household.

Elf on the Shelf Signs

Download Elf Surveillance printable sign here.

However, if the idea of surveillance is not quite your scene, then the simple ‘Elf now on duty’ sign might be more to your liking. The elf being on duty could mean anything you want it to mean. Elves don’t have to be naughty. They can be kind, and generous and thoughtful beings too.

I also have some free Elf on the Shelf letters here that you will love. One has an original poem printed on it for Elf’s arrival. The other is a blank letterhead for you to use for any Elf messages you might need to send to your children throughout December.

If you haven’t purchased an Elf on the Shelf yet you can find them here.

Don’t forget to check out the awesome Elf accessories that are also available these days. They can really help you with some ideas during the busy month of December. My kids loved this Elf on the Shelf sweater. It’s an easy hack for when you need the elf to do something funny. They will love finding him in the freezer with his new sweater on.

It’s also really good to have a few other awesome Elf props on hand for those super busy nights where you need to come up with something creative for the elf to do quickly.

I sincerely hope that these Elf on the Shelf activities and Elf on the Shelf signs have brought some fun into your Elf adventures and have at least helped you out with a couple of ideas. Thank you for reading this far.
